Amelie is a 15 years old clay figurine artist. After creating little clay charms for five years, Amelie decided to share her love of clay beyond friends and family.
The designs are her own and each piece is created individually, from moulding the clay and baking them in the oven to make them hard and durable.
Her mum helps her with the packaging and runs the business side of ‘Little Joys’. She named the company ‘Little Joys’ in the hope of sharing as much joy as she gets in making them.
The GLOW IN THE DARK Positivity Designs continue to be the most popular product. These little joys help children and adults with anxiety, frustration, confidence, bravery and happiness.
Custom designs available too.
Francis and Frouwke Bruining, a Kiwi-Dutch couple living in Waihi are the artists behind Hasina Art. What started as a homeschool project for their son, turned into Hasina Art. Hasina means beautiful.
Their designs are inspired by the cultures around them and by the peoples and nations they visited during their travels.
Their ceramics are embossed with English tea roses, Swedish designs, Polish folklore, Māori borders. They love the history of New Zealand and use Māori symbols and designs to tell the story of this awesome country we live in.
With decades of sewing experience and a strong eye for detail, Helena (Na Na) is utilising her skills to produce high quality, handmade products.
During the COVID19 pandemic, she has dedicated her time to producing reusable face masks at an affordable cost. She has come up with a design that fits snugly on the face after refining several prototypes earlier this year and is comfortable to wear for extended periods. All the materials used to produce these masks are carefully selected and purchased within the community from local businesses.
Since then Helena has expanded her product range to include a variety of other products for the whole family, including your furry pets!
She can customise and personalise products as required.
Two small-time creatives started The Cusp to design and make something extraordinary.
As good friends, they collaborate on the design of each product before Stephen takes over the finer details of nutting out the ‘how to’ and then Kim heads into the workshop to start putting the pieces together.
The designs draw much inspiration from the dramatic landscape of Queenstown, New Zealand.
The Cusp respects the environment and attempts to minimise waste through clever designs and use of off-cuts for smaller items. Their preferred finishing products are all-natural based.
