Ellen is the owner and artist of ZeaZo Art Studio, originally from Holland, but very happy to have been living with her family in New Zealand for the past 15 years.
She is a mixed media artist who designs handmade journals and abstract paintings, working in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, from her home on a boat. Her abstract paintings are often influenced by her passion for flowers. She mostly works with acrylics, both on paper and canvas, selling prints and original pieces.
The journals are all handcrafted from top to bottom, painted, and come in a wide range of types and sizes, incorporating various techniques using ink, hand-colored papers, cloth, lace, decorative papers, beads, embellishments, and ephemeral.
So, when you love (art) journaling, unique and handmade notebooks, lapbooks, a keepsake album or would like to have a-one-of-a-kind journal handmade for a special event (pregnancy, birth, birthday, engagement, wedding, etc.), have a look at her beautiful journals.
Ellen aims to recycle as much as possible, and takes custom orders as well.

Tuhuru Taonga
George from Tuhuru Taonga was born and raised in a small Māori settlement on the West Coast of New Zealand called Arahura Pā. It was here his fascination and love for pounamu began.
Working only with pounamu he combines modern contemporary styles with time-honoured designs. George’s mission is to help elevate the arts amongst his hapū (subtribe or clan) and to provide a platform for his whānau (extended family) to promote and sell their work.
You can browse the authentic range of handmade carvings and purchase directly or commission a custom made piece.
All of his art is made using genuine New Zealand pounamu that he sources by himself and with other kaitiaki pounamu (guardians) on Te Tai o Poutini (New Zealand’s West Coast). George and the other kaitiaki pounamu believe it is important that when someone is buying taonga pounamu, they get the genuine real deal.
They feel it is wrong that the majority of Jade carvings sold in New Zealand are made from British Columbian Jade carved in China using Māori designs. It is their goal, therefore, to educate and encourage people to buy Māori made taonga (treasure).George also has information on his website about the different types of Pounamu, and the related Mythology and Legends.
