Solvej Swings
Solvej (sool-vay) Swings provides stylish swings of timeless Scandinavian design, made from the best quality materials to ensure a safe and fun swing. Read more about the benefits of swinging on their website.
Founded by Jenny Etherington and Thomas Mortimer in 1993 following the birth of their daughter Solvej. A cabinet maker and seamstress by trade, they were unhappy with the idea of putting their daughter in a moulded plastic swing so designed their own natural alternative.
The swings continue to be made in their rural home town of Matiere, New Zealand to foster the dream of providing employment and supporting the community in rural sectors of New Zealand and remain sustainable and as environmentally friendly as possible.
Their flagship convertible Baby-Toddler swings:
- are suitable from 6 months to 6 years old
- are for indoor or outdoor use
- are independently tested for multiple international safety standards
- carry a 9 year guarantee
- are easy to clean and move
- has a firm seat to support core development (swinging is great for vestibular development too, and getting babies to sleep!)
All the swings are made to last a lifetime (or more!) to provide joy to as many as possible. They are all made ethically, with a living wage paid to all employees, supportive work environment, environmentally sustainable business practices from the bottom to the top and a lot of love.
Solvej Swings are also sold in stores around the country.

Wraps for good
Wraps for Good, managed by Chrissy Watson, was born very organically out of a strong desire to help. Help the planet, help people choose a reusable, environmentally-friendly product, and also support really heart-warming causes in the community.
The aim is to provide an excellent alternative to plastic wrap that is affordable and continue to give inspiration on the different ways to use them. Handmade beeswax wraps are made from 100% cotton, all-natural beeswax, pine resin, and jojoba oil.
Wraps for Good strive to offer really high-quality wraps in designs customers will love. They often change their fabric patterns depending on supply and season. Beeswax wraps typically have a lifespan of up to 6 months, sometimes longer. You can also rewax your wraps when they start to lose their stick.
