Aku
Holly is a pattern-maker and sewing machinist and spent many years working in the fashion and film industries. She began supplying friends and family with the cloth pads, as more and more people wanted to stop using throwaway products. She wanted to make a pad that was not only way better for your health and the health of the planet, but user-friendly, comfortable, and easy to care for.

Danu Natural
The idea for Danu Natural came to Joanna when her youngest daughter started her period and had a less than happy experience in the subsequent months due to the inadequate sanitary products on offer.
Joanna was concerned by the presence of chemicals in supermarkets bought tampons and pads that certain research has suggested an increase in the risk of endometriosis. She wanted to provide her daughter with a natural, non-toxic solution that didn’t cost the earth.
With her 30+ years of design and manufacturing experience, Joanna set about creating a natural sanitary pad that would help women during mensuration, post-pregnancy bleeding, and times of incontinence. After months of testing, she found a fabric combination that offered exceptional comfort and maximum absorbency without the need for man-made fibres.
It didn’t take long for friends and family to express their interest, they too had been looking for a natural alternative. With a focus on family and female empowerment, Danu Natural is committed to contributing to the sustainability of the planet. Danu Natural is proudly plastic-free and made exclusively in New Zealand.

Handmade by Karen
Karen is on a journey to reduce waste, leave a smaller footprint, and live a more minimal life. She loves making things – cooking, fermenting, knitting, crochet, pottery, skincare products, household cleaners, and soap. It’s part of her journey to be kinder to herself and the environment by using fewer chemicals and natural products that produce little to no waste going to landfill. Karen uses everything she sells and loves it all.
All the products used to create the products are sourced from nature. Clays, spices, botanicals, herbs, seaweed, superfoods, coffee, butter, oils, essential oils, and more. Hand created with love and care to nourish skin and care for the largest organ. Without the use of artificial colors, synthetic fragrances, and damaging chemicals. Palm oil-free, as while this provides hardness in soap, it’s destroying the wildlife environment and displacing villagers.
Handmade by Karen is a zero-waste, eco-friendly, and sustainable mindset business. Packaging for soaps sold online is with paper and cardboard, no plastic. Everything is made by hand, with love, in small batches or to order.
Her business also recently featured in the NZ Herald.
