Chickpea Children’s Wear is focussed on providing quality, timeless alternatives to mass production and fast fashion. Their garments aim to be enduring and easy to wear, using quality fabrics, notions and fastenings.
Garments are available for infants and toddlers up to age 5 years. All pieces are made to order using only natural, breathable fibres such as cotton and linen. Fabrics are pre-washed for shrinkage before construction.
Chickpea’s colour palette is inspired by nature and muted vintage tones. Many of the garment styles and colour options are unisex, in a purposeful step away from the typical ‘girls wear pink, boys wear blue’ gender norm.
This business is also conscious of the environment and is especially aware of the negative impacts made by the fashion and textile industry.

Yvonne loves making things. She loves sewing, embroidery (hand and machine), patchwork/quilting/applique, different crafts and knitting. She produces top-quality handcrafted goods for adults and children in her smoke-free home studio. Her product range includes different goods from children’s products to face masks.
Stellar & Me is managed by Annalise and Shannon, two sisters from Dunedin with a huge passion for New Zealand made clothing, toys and accessories for babies, children, and mums.
After taking over the business in July 2019 they always knew they wanted to bring in a lot more New Zealand brands and products plus their own brand, the response has been overwhelmingly positive so they have transitioned Stellar & Me to be 100% New Zealand made.
Penelope from Thistle & Tig learnt to sew when she was just a kid. Her mother, her aunt, her nana, all of them sewed. Sewing was her hobby which turned into a passion.
Penelope is inspired by classic styles which she modernises to create an elegant, fun outfit for daily wear. Her quality is paramount, the garments are made to withstand the wear ad tear of toddler life and machine washing.
She pours love and care into every product, from hand stitching or smocking dresses to lining and finishing every garment she produces.

Helene is the owner of Bunny & Lion. She makes baby, children, and women’s clothing and accessories, including some handy items for new mums.
As a mum of three little girls, Helene is especially drawn towards all things pretty including an array of beautiful florals. All items are handmade in New Zealand and are typically small batches using high-quality fabrics.
She has a few ready-made items available to purchase otherwise most of our items are made to order with a turnaround of 2 – 3 weeks.
