Amanda from ‘Amanda Jayne Creative’ is a mother of three. She designs, cuts, and sews each piece from her small studio in their family home in Temuka. She has a background in fashion and graphic design and a real love for beautiful New Zealand leather.
It is not just the feeling, but the grain, and the scent of leather that draws her to it. By investing in a leather item, you are purchasing something that will last year after year, and will only get better with age.
With the help of her partner and their wee tribe of delightful little people, her range of bags grew and their gorgeous soft-soled, leather baby shoes were introduced.

Cherie is the owner of Baby Mumma, born in the heart of Central Otago-New Zealand’s prime merino nation. Her husband was born and raised in the Lower North Island, where his family was involved in the yarn and textile industry. When she was pregnant with her daughter, they started to examine, like all new parents, what was healthy for her precious skin. It wasn’t long before all this experience of merino wool had rushed back into them, and it was just like the birth of Baby Mumma.
Part of becoming a parent, not just now but also in the future, is doing what is best for the child which is why they make a deliberate effort to create goods that are renewable, safe, and biodegradable. Customers purchase quality New Zealand-made goods by joining them on the journey, which in turn helps to protect the children’s future.

Beanies by Michelle
Michelle handknits beanies and headbands/ear warmers using 100% New Zealand wool, and she knits them on circular looms which means there are no seams!
She uses two strands of 8ply/double knitting wool for the newborn and toddler beanies so they are thicker and warmer than standard beanies, whilst still being soft.
All beanies have a double brim which helps them stay on better and also adds extra warmth over the ears.
These beanies or headbands are an ideal gift or for yourself to keep you nice and toasty during those colder months.

I have always loved sewing and have been making things for my toddler, family, and friends young children for quite some time now! So decided to go all in a create my own little label, Bel & Gray. The name is my nickname (Bel) and the Gray is for my son (Grayson).
My most popular design is the winter vest, made from a soft flannelette outer and polar fleece lining but I can make blouse & bloomer sets and pinafore dresses upon request and making new stuff all the time!
I am located in the Waikato but can ship all over New Zealand. All products are handmade with love.

These items are not mass-produced. There would normally be a maximum of 20-30 items made in any one of the fabrics so items truly are unique and special.

Chickpea Children’s Wear
Chickpea Children’s Wear is focussed on providing quality, timeless alternatives to mass production and fast fashion. Their garments aim to be enduring and easy to wear, using quality fabrics, notions and fastenings.
Garments are available for infants and toddlers up to age 5 years. All pieces are made to order using only natural, breathable fibres such as cotton and linen. Fabrics are pre-washed for shrinkage before construction.
Chickpea’s colour palette is inspired by nature and muted vintage tones. Many of the garment styles and colour options are unisex, in a purposeful step away from the typical ‘girls wear pink, boys wear blue’ gender norm.
This business is also conscious of the environment and is especially aware of the negative impacts made by the fashion and textile industry.

During pregnancy, she found herself eager to go shopping for nice maternity outfits, but she was disappointed at the variety and the cost! Since then, she has been dreaming about offering affordable maternity and breastfeeding apparel that could make moms feel fantastic.
Alisha gathered requirements from other moms about what they’d want in their pregnancy wardrobe and thus designed her range.

To date, Jade from Frankly My Wears has made over 2500 eco-friendly reusable breast pads. These super soft breast pads are made with 5 layers of fabric, including 2 inner layers of 100% bamboo and 2 outer layers of 100% soft brushed cotton for softness and great absorbency – they don’t use (horrible) plastic waterproofing in their products.
Frankly My Wears also create handmade children’s clothing and accessories.

The baby slippers have elastic backs to keep them on and are made from vintage 100% wool blankets and soft flannelette lining under the front section for extra comfort. The sole is wool as well, so they’re not designed for wooden floors.
