Close to the Heart brings you breastfeeding clothes that are beautiful, practical and affordable. The family business is owned and operated by Michele, Jacqui, and Alex with 8 kiddies between them.
Breastfeeding is something very close to their hearts, they love that it’s the one thing you can do for your baby that no one else can do. For years they struggled to find breastfeeding clothes that they liked. There are some beautiful ranges out there, but the styles just weren’t right. So the idea was born, why not make it themselves!
They believe maintaining a sense of self is key as a mum, and what you wear can directly impact how you feel. So wear clothes that you love, that you feel great in, and then just include links to breastfeeding. It’s surprisingly straightforward, actually!
Close to the Heart breastfeeding clothes are simple and stylish.

Jody Thompson from Flourish Maternity is a proud wife to her husband Aaron and mother to their little girl.
Her background is in early childhood education and management, but nothing has been as fulfilling for her as being able to spend the first three precious years of her daughter’s life at home with her. Now, as the owner of Flourish Maternity, she gets to channel her creative spirit while cherishing every moment with her beloved family.One thing that brings her immense joy is helping mums, babies, and families like yours navigate through the beautiful journey of maternity, breastfeeding, and everything that follows. Frankly My Wears
To date, Jade from Frankly My Wears has made over 2500 eco-friendly reusable breast pads. These super soft breast pads are made with 5 layers of fabric, including 2 inner layers of 100% bamboo and 2 outer layers of 100% soft brushed cotton for softness and great absorbency – they don’t use (horrible) plastic waterproofing in their products.
Frankly My Wears also create handmade children’s clothing and accessories.

Zinny runs Homemade by Zinny, specialising in reusable waterproof breast pads.
Zinny makes two types of breast pads:
- Day pads: With 4 special layers designed to wick away moisture while being super soft against your skin.
- Night pads: ‘Night-themed’ prints to help prevent mixing up ;). These have double absorbance of the day pairs for extra protection during nighttime or heavy milk days!
Zinny also makes dreamcatchers and headbands.

Huggable Hearts
Huggable Hearts is a family-run organisation providing grieving families who have lost a baby with a fabric heart made to their angel’s birth weight. Huggable Hearts give families a special everlasting keepsake to hug and hold. It is a free service to New Zealand residents who have had an angel baby*.
The heart-shaped moments are made using in various materials. They are sewn and filled with rice/polyfill to the weight recorded for the angel baby. If no weight is known they can still provide one based on the approximate age of the angel baby.
Huggable Hearts is a registered New Zealand charity (CC52524). Donations are muchly appreciated.
*An angel baby is a baby lost prior to birth or after birth.

Milk Cove
Jess Stanley, a mum based in Northland, built and designed Milk Cove. The concept was born out of her own experience and a lack of market choices. She realized that there was nothing available in which she felt relaxed and secure, something that would suit her changing body from pregnancy to postpartum and could easily breastfeed.
Jess decided to build a collection that would fix those problems and help all mothers and all bodies, most importantly. At Milk Cove, moms will find the right swimsuit for them, which makes them feel sexy and secure as they take on motherhood.
Each mother deserves to look and feel her best.

Motherland was created by Alexis & Sinead with the natural mother in mind. Between the two of them, they have 3 beautiful babies and are friends that have become like family. Two hospital births and one home birth later, they finally found their calling and love for all things natural.

Racheal Keen is the owner of the Rebellious Rose Curve. The business was born when she was pregnant with her first child and struggled to find suitable maternity and breastfeeding clothing.
Racheal was looking for clothes that she could wear during pregnancy, breastfeeding and beyond. Since opening Rebellious Rose, Racheal found that she wasn’t alone in this struggle and continue to support other curvy mamas.
All items are designed with pregnancy, breastfeeding, and mum life in mind. Breastfeeding access is as discrete as possible so that the pieces can be worn long after you finish feeding.

Jane is the owner of The Mother Hood. As a mother, she knows that motherhood is one of the greatest things in life, it can be one of the hardest.
Jane felt alone at home with a toddler and a newborn when she had her second baby. She wanted to hang out with other mums, but it was often too much to arrange naps, feeds, and even just the idea of trying to get out of the house. So she started an online group called ‘The Mother Hood for moms’. This group was a godsend, with two small children. She was able to interact with other mums who knew what she was going through and could relate to it.
Fast forward 5 years and The Mother Hood has now grown into a website, a shop and a blog.
But the core values still remain the same. It is all about supporting and helping mums through the journey that is motherhood.
Their products are all selected to make life easier for busy mums. Whether it is our Peek-a-Baby carrier wraps that allow you to get on with life hands-free, while still holding your baby close or our products to help your baby’s sleep, Jane loves finding products that she knows you will love too.
Jane has spent over 20 years working with mums, as a teacher, a nanny, a sleep consultant and now has two beautiful children of her own.
Basically, she’s out to do what she can to make parenting that little bit easier for you.

Umbilical Cord Ties NZ
Tash makes and sells handmade umbilical cord ties. These natural umbilical cord ties are available in 100% organic cotton, or standard cotton depending on the color choice.
Tash made the first fabric cord tie in 2018 when she was pregnant with the second child and wanted something soft, comfortable, and eco-friendly as an alternative to the plastic umbilical cord clamps they use in the hospital.
To make these cords more unique, each cord tie comes with a special crystal bead attached at the ends. At the moment Tash has the following crystals available:
- Rose Quartz: unconditional love, trust and harmony, calming and reassurance
- Amethyst: calming, peace, emotional balance
- Jade: Harmony, serenity, safety
